Dick
Van Patten's Natural
Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient
Diets® Sweet Potato & Venison
Dry Dog Food is made with:
Fresh Sweet Potatoes Premium quality
carbohydrate rich in potassium and a highly digestible
energy source.
Fresh Venison Premium quality protein source
not commonly used in pet foods.
Canola Oil Low in saturated fat and high in
monounsaturated fat. Excellent Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty
acid profile.
Flaxseed: An excellent source of Omega-3 fatty
acids.
Grain Free
No
Artificial Flavors or Colors.
Due to a shortage of potato protein, we have added pea protein to our L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Sweet Potato & Bison and Sweet Potato & Venison Formulas. Peas, as a part of the legume family, are a unique, high quality protein not commonly found in pet foods; making it an ideal ingredient for dog's with food sensitivities. We have been feeding the new formulas to our own Natural Balance® pets and it has continued to produce the same exceptional results as the current formulas.
Since this is a slight change, we recommend a gradual introduction by replacing the current food with increasing portions of the new L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Sweet Potato & Bison and Sweet Potato & Venison Formulas with Pea Protein. The change should be done over a 5 to 7 day weaning period. recommend that you do not add vitamins, minerals
or any other supplements, except upon the advice
of a veterinarian. The maintenance of proper body
weight is most important for your dogs health.
Consult your veterinarian for specific weight recommendations
for your dog. Remember, fresh clean water should
be available at all times! |
|
The
Adult Adult dogs should be fed either once or twice
per day. When you first start feeding Natural Balance®
L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Sweet Potato
& Venison Formula, we suggest to start with the
amounts recommended in the Table. Energy requirements
vary with environmental conditions, temperature and
activity of your dog. The amount of food should always
be adjusted to suit your dogs needs.
Pregnant
Females (See Our Feeding
Page for More Details!)
Minimal increase needed during first 6 weeks.
Weeks 7, 8, & 9 increase up to 25%.
Lactating
Females (See Our Feeding
Page for More Details!)
Immediately after whelping, the nutritional demand increases
by 50% compared to maintenance levels. Feed in 3 equal
meals per day.
Working
Dogs Based on the work your dog will be asked to
perform, the nutritional requirements will vary accordingly.
As the work load increases, the demand for protein and
fat increases proportionally. Dogs in hard training
will generally require twice the maintenance levels.
The
Older Dog As your dog begins to age, his energy
expenditure will decrease. Decreasing the amount of
food accordingly will allow for the maintenance of proper
body weight for less active dog. |

FEEDING
MANAGEMENT |

Diets® Sweet Potato & Venison dog food. The
change should be completed after 5 to 7 days. The maintenance
of proper body weight is most important for your dog's
health. Consult your veterinarian for specific weight
recommendations for your dog. Remember, fresh clean
water should be available at all times!

Stella
is a Chinese Crested mix and was adopted as a special
needs dog. She is allergic to so many things and always
had digestion problems, skin breakouts, and constant ear
infections. I tried other allergen free foods that did
not stop the digestion problems. A gentleman at my local
PETCO suggested a grain free formula: Natural
Balance® Sweet Potato & Venison dry food
bag. It was a little more expensive than the other brand,
but after having to get up four times a night to let my
girl potty, I didn't really care. I used NB for 2 weeks.
Stella's belly is so much better and she sleeps through
the night (and so do I)! Stella only has two back teeth,
and your matching treats are small enough for her to munch.
These are the first treats she has been allowed and able
to eat. If she could talk, I am sure she would thank you
for that! Thank
you so much for a great dog food. Leah |
| Our
poodle, Phoebe, had unspecified allergies, so upon recommendation
from a family member, put her on your Sweet Potato
and Venison food. She LOVED it. When it was taken
off the market for a time, she just moped at dinner time.
Sometimes she would eat, but not with gusto. She was never
excited to eat. Finally, when it came back on the market,
I put some in her bowl and SHE WAS SO EXCITED. She ate
and ate, and if a tiny bit of the bottom of her bowl shows,
she'll come and bark at us until we put more food in it.
She won't eat it all; she wants to make sure it is not
going away again. We have to keep the bowl full. And of
course, the best part is that she has no more allery problems;
even the red tears most poodles get have gone away. Thank
you so much for the Sweet Potato and Venison formula,
and for the great products Natural Balance offers. Rickie

| I
just wanted to let you know how happy I am with your Natural
Balance® Sweet Potato & Venison Formula
dry kibble for dogs. My Pomeranian had lost her hair approx.
3 yrs. when she was shaved in grooming. Her hair grew
back very sparse on her body. My little Pom was almost
bald. After feeding her top grade dry food and Dinovite
supplements and even Salmon oil daily no change. She was
tested for thyroid, which was slightly low and took meds
for awhile. After seeing no change I stopped those. I
just recently discovered your food, about a month ago.
I noticed the other day that Little Emma's hair is growning
!!! She's a fuzzy little girl. Soft undercoat. Plus her
coat is smoother. Always has been dull and coarse. The
only change in her diet has been the Natural Balance Limited
Ingredients. I can't figure what else it could be! SHe
loves the Venison. That has been the only change I have
made! We are very excited and hopefully more will go.
It's not good to be a bald Pomy. Thanks for a great product!
I am also feeding my little foster dog the same. I do
rescue and volunteer with a local rescue. Cindy

I
attached a picture of Dozer, my English Bulldog. I came
to your website to get a link and info to share with my
mother, she would like to start her dog on Natural Balance
too. I saw you guys have a section of pictures that people
submit. Well we are big fans of your Sweet Potato
& Venison Formula here, its Dozer's favorite
flavor. I warm it up for him so it smells very sweet.
He gets so excited when he hears the microwave. It smells
good enough for people to eat! haha He enjoys the Lamb
too, but the store usually runs out of that flavor too
quickly. After a little dog food education, I realized
that most store brands are terrible for your pup, with
barely enough "real" ingrediants to get them
by. Natural Balance is the best food I have seen. Dozer
was diagnosed with Megaesophagus about a month and a half
ago. Some foods before would irritate him and dry foods
were just bad. NB slides down nicely because its not too
sticky and doesn't get caught up in his tummy pouch. Its
the perfect amount of moisture. It's amazing how many
foods out there are just terrible. Foods you have seen
around forever, and I wonder how they are still around.
Thank you for caring about dogs and what goes in their
tummys. In the future, I will be sticking with this brand.

| I
wanted to let you know that your Natural Balance®
Sweet Potato& Venison Formula dog food literally
saved my dog's life. We have a 2 yr old Golden Retriever
that has been sick since the day we purchased her. Having
gone through many tests and exploratory surgeries, it
was determined that she was suffering from severe food
allergies. After trying many allergy free foods with no
success, we were told to try one last food "YOURS".
Without much confidence, we did and it worked!!! Our baby,
is growing and finally gaining weight. No more vomiting,
diarrhea, or loss of appetite. She is finally getting
her beautiful golden coat. We cannot "Thank You"
enough for making the food that saved her life. At present,
she eats the canned with a supplement of the dry. We have
since told everyone who knows about our struggle for nearly
two years and hope that they to will see the difference
that your food has made in Sadie's life. We have since
switched our kitty over because we believe that she to
will benefit. Again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
We now are able to look forward to many years with our
girl... Penny

| Thank
you for your Sweet Potato & Venison Formula
non-grain dog food that has helped save our dog's life.
You are commended in a paper I wrote that can also be
seen at http://lukesgmevictory.blogspot.com.
Thanks again! Candyce |
| Thank
you for finally having a Sweet Potato & Venison
Formula without grains and fish, and also low
in protein and fat. I have a 9-yr-old Bichon Frise who
is allergic to both grains and fish. They are not supposed
to have high protein or fat and it is very hard to find
dog food without grains that is not extremely high in
both of them. Your new Venison and Sweet Potato seems
to be working great with him. Please don't change your
formula. Kathy

| I
have schnauzers, 11 and 2 year old. My older dog has food
allergies and I have been giving him vet recommended dry
food for years. About every 8 to 10 weeks we get him an
allergy shot which costs $40. I recently tried your Sweet
Potato & Venison Formula and within a week,
all of his symptoms are gone. I wish I had known about
your product sooner. |
