Meet the Natural Balance Vet
Dr. Leslie Hancock
Director of Health and Nutrition Sciences & Veterinarian
Dr. Hancock received her BS in Biology-Genetics from The University of Georgia in 1996, and went on to receive her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from UGA in 2001. She practiced veterinary medicine exclusively from 2001-2007 and was surgical director at Animal Medical Hospital of Charlotte in North Carolina. Dr. Hancock developed a strong passion for nutrition when she saw far too many pets with nutritionally preventable or amenable diseases, such as obesity, joint disease, and nutritional deficiencies from unbalanced alternative diets. She learned that nutrition was an incredibly powerful tool for improving her patient’s recovery and ameliorating diseases. In 2007, while continuing to practice in a limited capacity, she began working in the pet nutrition field. To further her knowledge, she moved to California to pursue ongoing nutrition training. In 2011, Dr. Hancock completed a 2 year post-doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Nutrition from the University of California Davis. Currently, she is Director of Health and Nutrition Sciences at Natural Balance Pet Foods, Inc.
“My goals are to continue to educate our team on animal health and nutrition and work with the exceptional team to ensure our Natural Balance diets provide optimal nutrients using the safest, healthiest, and most sustainable ingredients available.” – Dr. Leslie Hancock
