Adult dogs should be fed either once or twice per day. When you first start feeding Natural Balance® Reduced Calorie Formula, we suggest to start with the amounts recommended in the Table. Energy requirements vary with environmental conditions, temperature and activity of your dog. The amount of food should always be adjusted to suit your dog's needs. If you would like to provide a special treat for your dog, you can add small amounts of Natural Balance® Canned Dog Food.
Older Dogs
As your dog begins to age, his energy expenditure will decrease. Decreasing the amount of food accordingly will allow for the maintenance of proper body weight for less active dog. Older dogs are sometimes more reluctant to eat hard foods. Adding larger amounts of Natural Balance® Canned Dog Food or Natural Balance® Dog Food Rolls will make the most "finicky" eater enjoy his daily meals.
Feeding Management
We recommend that you do not add vitamins, minerals or any other supplements, except upon the advice of a veterinarian. When switching your dog's diet, the change should be made gradually, by replacing the current food with increasing portions of Natural Balance® Ultra Premium Reduced Calorie Formula. The change should be completed after 5 to 7 days. The maintenance of proper body weight is most important for your dog's health. Consult your veterinarian for specific weight recommendations for your dog. Remember, fresh clean water should be available at all times!
